Andy Hornett is an experienced contemporary artist who is based in Norwich, UK where he studied for his MA course in drawing at what was then NUCA. He has exhibited widely across the UK and has a busy sculptural and drawing practice. He uses found materials and turns his craft towards the ephemeral references and renders the audience to a hopeful helping landscape. He uses paper, card, and photographic paper in his work and the skill on show is of a quality that distinguishes himself from many candidates competing for such prizes in sculpture and installation. We can see many current themes (such as childhood, British society and the urban environment) running through his practice. His more recent work engages with found objects with concentration and subtle atmosphere.
